Joy of playing & ambition
Does an opponent sometimes unsettle or irritate you, and do you possibly struggle to improve your performance despite high training volume?
Then it makes sense to also engage with your tennis self and your psychological experiences in the game.
Your tennis self has probably been shaped in many matches, is continually challenged anew and differently, and is very closely connected to your personality and your influences from your life.
Minting & Personality
How can I help you improve?
Consider how you experience yourself and your opponent in the match.
Observe the influence of your personality on your gaming behavior.
Align your body, your thoughts and your feelings.
Observe how you can further boost your self-confidence.
I am Lioba Eich and have been accompanying people for about 10 years with my psychological knowledge and much empathy in their holistic development.
In recent years, a major focus has been on working with leaders. For some time now, I have also been dedicating myself with my knowledge and great passion to tennis players.
Ultimately, it is always about understanding and being able to feel oneself better and becoming freer and more content by making one’s experiences and behavior more conscious and diverse — whether in business or in tennis.

Your Tennis Mental Coach: With mental strength to more joy in playing and success
Do you know it? In training, you play freely, your forehand is on point, and your serve comes with precision. But as soon as you stand in a match, your arm seems to become heavy, your legs don't move as swiftly, and that lightness is gone. As a tennis player, you know: The game is decided largely between the ears.
My name is Lioba Eich. As a psychologist with around 10 years of experience, I assist you in bridging the gap between your technical skills and your mental state. My approach to mental coaching is holistic and empathetic. It’s not about rigid winning mantras, but about harmonizing your individual personality, your thoughts, and emotions so that you can unleash your full potential on the court.
Technique and conditioning are the foundation, but psychological strength is the roof of your game. Without stable mental training, the potential of many players remains untapped, as stress reactions block the body. True success in tennis happens when you learn to regulate your emotions instead of fighting against them. As your tennis mental coach, I support you in developing an inner attitude that allows you to remain calm even when you are behind.
Typical hurdles: When pressure and blockages determine the game.
Every player knows moments when the mind gets in the way. Often, it is deep-seated patterns or overly high expectations that lead to an inner blockade. Typical situations where sports mental training makes a difference are:
Fear of double faults on break point against you
Anger over easy mistakes that throw you off for the next three games
Difficulty in fully focusing again after a long break
The loss of rhythm in tight pressure situations.
My coaching approach: Understand, Train, and Retrieve in the Match
Effective mental training for tennis players is not a theoretical construct, but a craft. In my work, we use insights from psychology to identify your individual triggers. Together, we develop strategies for how you can call up your best performance at the push of a button.
In doing so, we go beyond classic tennis coaching: We look at how your thoughts affect your physical well-being. The goal is to develop a reliable routine that gives you confidence—no matter what the score looks like. This way, you create the foundation to get into the coveted flow state more often.
My goal for you is more success, which is expressed not only in trophies, but above all in an increased self-confidence and renewed joy in playing. Through targeted tennis mental training, you will learn:
To focus perfectly even in noise or distraction.
To see pressure as a positive companion instead of an enemy.
To use your body language as a tool for your inner strength.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about Mental Training
What does a tennis mental coach do exactly?
A mental coach helps you manage your psychological processes. Unlike a technique coach, we work on your concentration, emotional regulation, and your mental resilience. I combine psychological expertise with the specific dynamics of tennis to break down barriers in your mind.
Is mental training also worthwhile for tennis players if I am only playing as a hobby?
Absolutely. Mental strength not only improves your performance in competition but especially enhances your enjoyment of the game. When you get less upset about mistakes and learn to stay in the moment, your entire tennis experience gains quality — no matter what level you are playing at.
How quickly will I notice effects in a match?
Initial Aha moments and small changes in perception often occur after just the first sessions. However, like stroke training, mental training is also a process. The more regularly you integrate the techniques into your daily life and your game, the more stable you will perform in tight situations.
Online or on the court – how does the coaching work?
The mental coaching can take place flexibly online via video call, which has the advantage of being in your familiar environment. Alternatively, on-site sessions at the club are also possible by arrangement, allowing you to practice techniques like routines directly in the game situation.
